HOW TO APOLOGIZE
In BottomLine Personal (September 15, 2003; www.bottomlinesecrets.com),
Mark Goulston observes....
"The power apology is more effective than just saying you are sorry. It
has four elements:
* Look into the eyes of the person you hurt or disappointed. Say
what you did, that you were wrong, and apologize.
* Tell the person how you hurt or disappointed him/her.
* Offer something as a payback.
* Present a solution to prevent the problem from recurring and repair
the damage you caused.
