If you are in the mood to ease off and watch some good movies this summer, here are some movies that Bonnie and I have found not only engaging, but also touching on child and family issues....
- The Girl in the Cafe " fun, bumbling romance with a political finale.
- Wondrous Oblivion " a sports story that's really about multiracial families learning to get along
- The Italian " orphaned Russian boy in search of his mother
- Paper Clips " how a school can energize kids and mobilize a community
- Children of Heaven " an Iranian boy loses his sister's shoes
- Tsotsi " South African baby touches even the hardest of hearts

I saw "The Italian". It is a tender, bittersweet story. Makes you grateful that your children aren't going through these trails. I will try to get these through my rentals.
Thanks for the list.

We have watched both Tsotsi and Children of Heaven and were "bowled over" by both films. I HIGHLY recommend those two, and based on the inclusion of those films on your reading list, am eager to view the others as well.
Thanks for sharing!
