"Fair flowers do not remain long by the wayside." –German proverb
AND NOW FOR SOMETHING
COMPLETELY DIFFERENT
One surprise I have had is finding that many early childhood professionals escape
from the stress by reading mystery stories. So for those of you who share my
addiction, here are...
Roger's Recent Mystery Favorites...
1. Tears of the Giraffe by Alexander McCall Smith (Anchor Books, 2000). A mystery
solved by a female detective in Botswana.
2. A Samba for Sherlock by Jo Soares (Vintage International, 1997). Sherlock
goes to Brazil.
3. Murder in Belleville by Cara Black (Soho Press, 2000). Cool female
detective on the case in Paris.
4. A Small Death in Lisbon by Robert Wilson (Berkley Books, 2000). From
Berlin in the '40's to Portugal in the '90's.
5. The Crook Factory by Dan Simmons (HarperTorch, 1999). Ernest Hemingway
fights Nazi's, and J. Edgar Hoover in Cuba.
