The Harmful Absence of Men
January 3, 2005
"He fishes on who catches one." - French Proverb

The Harmful Absence of Men

In their article, "Out of Site But Not Out of Mind: The Harmful Absence of Men," (Exchange, March 2004) Bruce Cunningham and Bernie Dorsey observe, that ..."while men are often out of child care sites, they are seldom out of the minds of children." In the article, which appears this week on our home page (www.ChildCareExchange.com) Cunningham and Dorsey offer suggestions on how to get men more involved in your program so that ...."we will have strong programs for families and better lives for children."

One of their suggestions is to "recuit men into the program as staff and regular volunteers." To aid in your recruitment, of male and female staff, check out the Exchange Employment Opportunities section of our web site. This month we are featuring a special offer: If you post a job in January we will provide you an additional 30 free days of exposure for your job ad!
