Family Stress Threatens Childhoods

In this week's Exchange Insta-Poll, ExchangeEveryDay readers rated "Family stress"  as the most serious challenge to the well-being of children of the world today.  Family stress and and the second ranked "Hurried childhoods" were the only challenges identified by over 50% of respondents.  "Exposure to violence" and "Poverty" were identified as key challenges by over a third of respondents.

It is also interesting to see which challenges fell at the bottom of the list.  The following challenges were identified by less than one in twenty respondents as the most serious challenge:

Falling literacy:  4%
Over-medication: 4%
Sexual abuse:  4%
Computer games:  3%
Prejudice/discrimination:  3%
Global warming: 2%
Terrorism:  1%
