LIVE ONLINE! Celebrate Stories of Resistance with the ROW Community
June 19, 2023
Your story will heal you and your story will heal somebody else.
-Iyanla Vanzant, speaker, lawyer, life coach

Today we celebrate Juneteenth,* commemorating the end of slavery in the United States. It’s also a day to take stock of the long shadow of its impact. One gets a sense of this impact and ongoing efforts to overcome it when reading Stories of Resistance: Learning from Black Women in Early Care and Education (2023 Exchange Press), a powerful collection of essays by twelve courageous women.

We are thrilled to invite you to join eleven of the twelve authors in a special open-to-the-public event tomorrow, June 20, hosted by Exchange’s Reimagining Our Work (ROW) Initiative, and moderated by authors Alissa Mwenelupembe and Kelly Ramsey. The online gathering will include a 30-minute live Q&A with the authors at the end.

This is an event you absolutely won’t want to miss, but in case you do, following the event, the recording will be available to all who join the Exchange Press Content Hub at the free level and above.

*To learn more about Juneteenth, a federal holiday since 2021, visit Juneteenth.com or The National Museum of African American History.
