No, they say we’re successful when we have high emotional intelligence.” She goes on to share insights from her own experience as a child who overcame trauma, as well as wisdom gained from years of working with children and educators. She explains that honestly and courageously facing and overcoming adverse experiences aids children and adults alike in developing resilience and increased emotional intelligence.

As I continually express, if Emotional Intelligence is really important (and I believe it is), then it must have a significant place in all state early childhood standards. That's where the rubber hits the road!
