When we sent a survey asking how we could help during the pandemic, you asked if we could provide some free resources – which we have been doing from time-to-time. As we welcome a New Year and continue to face high COVID-19 numbers, we will be giving you something every week. The only way to receive these free weekly resources, such as articles, video clips, book excerpts, and more, is to sign up for the Free Resources Email.
The first resource we’re pleased to provide is a free article, “Six Keys to Getting More Inquiries and Enrollments in the Era of Covid-19” by Kris Murray and Sindye Alexander. Be sure that you receive this free article tomorrow by signing up here.
In the Art of Leadership book, Promoting Early Childhood Services, Bruce Schon and Roger Neugebauer also write about increasing enrollment. They remind administrators that “typically the most important factors for parents in selecting a child care center are:
In the parents’ initial contacts with the center, therefore, you should be especially careful to satisfy their concerns about the staff and the environment.”

While very good information, it is geared mainly toward child care businesses. I work in a public school, for a special needs preschool program, and I was looking more for ways to get my kids to engage more. I realize that it begins with the parents. We need them at this age to help our students. I just need more ways to show parents that we can be effective online, if they only give us a chance.
