Another title in our Exchange Reflections series is based on two recent Exchange magazine articles: “The Heart of Courageous Leadership” by Elyssa Nelson, and “Listen, in Order to Lead,” by Raynice Jean-Sigur. Together, both articles provide food-for-thought about ways to find courage in any difficulty (not just during a pandemic).
Jean-Sigur makes the point that “Courageous leaders do not have to be in paid leadership positions. These individuals can be parents, teachers, professionals, students, colleagues, custodians and cooks. Leaders come from all walks of life.”
Nelson invites us to remember that “when faced with overwhelming and challenging moments, a refocus on gratitude can help elevate our thinking and energy and lift us out of feeling that the hardship is bigger than we can handle. Gratitude is training in vision. It invites more grace and success into our lives. It restores a feeling of abundance and it attracts what we most value. Exercising gratitude is a life changer and a source of joy! The challenge of the moment may not disappear, but you will gain perspective that allows you to approach it with fresh eyes.”
All Exchange Reflections now come with a Certificate of Completion.
