In a blog post, "Announcing the Draft of NAEYC'S DAP Position Statement," Elisa Huss-Hage writes this about the proposed revisions focused on developmentally appropriate practice for young children:
"I want to stress that this is an initial draft, and we are counting on you to review it and provide feedback to make the final version as strong as it can be.
Please review the statement…and submit your feedback through this survey or by emailing [email protected]. A PowerPoint that summarizes the changes is also available.
Thank you for your review and comments. This round of feedback will be open until July 15, 2019."
We urge all readers of ExchangeEveryDay and Exchange magazine to make your voices heard and take the time to provide thoughtful comments on this important statement.

I spent the last 2 days responding to the survey on the new DAP. I encourage everyone to carefully review the document (33 page). l won't influence people's feedback here; just please read it and then provide your honest opinion. What is at stake is whether this seminal document remains as the guiding principle for quality, appropriate, radical early childhood programs. or whether it just becomes another cog in the birth-12 educational establishment.
