When dealing with people, remember you are not dealing with creatures of logic, but creatures of emotion.
-Dale Carnegie
Julie Wassom, writing in the book, Promoting Early Childhood Services (part of the Art of Leadership series), encourages programs to do an audit of their websites to find out if they really work or not. Here are five questions to ask. Once you can answer “yes” to all of these, it’s more likely that your website is serving as an effective marketing tool:
- Is it mobile friendly?
- Is it easy to navigate?
- Is it visually appealing enough to keep them there?
- Does it create urgency?
- Does it have design elements that lead them to the desired actions without too many click-throughs?”
