Today is International Mud Day - a day when children (and adults) around the world experience the joy of playing in the mud. Mud Day was launched at the 2009 World Florum on Early Care and Education by the Nature Action Collaborative for Children and now engages tens of thousands of children in every continent. You can learn more about International Mud Day at the World Forum web site.
To get you in the mood, here is the conclusion to the Who Likes Mud book created by NACC leader from India Swati Popat:
So, get into the mud like the seed and the worm,
Or squiggle around like the elephant and the hippo have done.
You could take it in your hands like the potter,
Or join the fun like the kids and the otter.
Mud Day is the greatest day of all;
As we slide, rock and roll in it and just have a ball.

It is really a Great Book! I like and love the book. Wonderful and creative. I just take a print to share with our pre school children. Huge messages in it for the children too.
