For the past year Exchange and the Early Care and Education Consortium have been working together to evaluate the implementation of the recently reauthorized Child Care and Development Block Grant (CCDBG). In the September issue of Exchange we reported on an initial survey with a representative focus group of child care providers. In general, providers conveyed positive attitudes about the new CCDBG law. They indicated that they were looking forward to changes in the law to improve the operation of their programs to better serve the needs of the children and families they serve, particularly the new 12-month uninterrupted eligibility requirement. And they were looking forward to the increased training and technical assistance opportunities.
