CHILDREN AND THE MEDITERRANEAN CONFERENCE

An international conference, "Children & the Mediterranean:  Health Culture and Urban Settings, " will be held in Genoa, Italy, from January 7-9, 2004.  The purpose of the conference is "to promote an in-depth understanding of the conditions of children across the Mediterranean and to facilitate the exchange of knowledge, innovative policies and best practices, which will provide new ways for preventing, mitigating, or coping with, children's exposure to social risks. . . ."  The conference is promoted by the Gaslini Foundation and the City of Genoa, in collaboration with the World Bank, the Arab Urban Development Institute and Lynkeus.
