The World Forum National Representative from England, Laura Henry, shared a video, "Saving Brains: A Grand Challenge," developed by Grand Challenges Canada that displays in a clever and clear way what needs to happen to ensure children's full development. This video should be very useful for staff development, parent education, and advocacy.

This video is one that is extremely well done and is incredibly valuable to share worldwide. It provides understanding that the world has not yet realized. Every child needs every adult to have the awareness of the critical and potentially long lasting impact of the early years. In my experience it is still a minority of adults that have this realization. This video will help in creating this knowledge.
Isn't it wonderful that what developing brains need most is, stimulating experiences through play and movement, nutrition, sleep, nature, and lots of loving and responsive interactions? It really isn't complicated and we have science behind us to demonstrate what is best!

In a few entertaining minutes this gave yesterday's lecture in child development class! It will serve as a great review on Monday morning.
Now if you want the other half of that lecture go to "Dr. House of Cards, Ep. 2" a response to a very humorous response to an antivaccine mother.
I am so greatful for these brief youtubes to keep my adult students attention!!!!!
