"Reality is above
all else a variable, and nobody is qualified to say that he or she knows what
it is. As a matter of fact, with a firm enough commitment, you can sometimes
create a reality which did not exist before." - Margaret Halsey
Q & A ABOUT EXCHANGEEVERYDAY
From time to time readers of ExchangeEveryDay send us questions
such as the following:
Who is responsible for ExchangeEveryDay?
ExchangeEveryDay is published by Child Care Information Exchange,
a practical magazine for leaders of early childhood programs. Exchange
also organizes the "World Forum on Early Care and Education" and hosts
the web site, www.ChildCareExchange.com
Who receives ExchangeEveryDay?
ExchangeEveryDay goes out to thousands of people connected to
the field of early childhood education -- teachers, center directors, NGO leaders,
family child care providers, faculty members, consultants, researchers, public
officials, and advocates. ExchangeEveryDay has subscribers from all regions
of the world.
Will ExchangeEveryDay always be free?
Yes. Our purposes in sending out ExchangeEveryDay are to keep in touch
with all the great people we have connected with through Child Care Information
Exchange and the World Forum, as well as to keep these people informed
about the work we are doing in developing tools for early childhold professionals.
Do you sell the mailing list to ExchangeEveryDay?
No. The mailing list is maintained on a secure server and is used solely
to send out ExchangeEveryDay.
Can you produce ExchangeEveryDay in Spanish?
A number of readers have sent in this excellent suggestion. We are investigating
this with several potential partners and will let you know if we are able to
make it happen.
What is the educational philosophy behind ExchangeEveryDay?
The Mission Statement of Child Care Information Exchange states
that we are committed to supporting professionals "...in their efforts
to craft early childhood environments where adults and children thrive -- environments
that foster friendship, curiosity, self-esteem, and joy; where parents are welcomed
and respected; where the talents of all staff members are fully challenged and
justly rewarded." We have learned from the World Forum that
these goals can be achieved by many pathways. There is no one best program,
philosophy, curriculum, or approach for doing what is right for children and
families. Therefore, with ExchangeEveryDay we strive to present a wealth
of points of view to stimulate your thinking about new ways to do your work.
Can I sign my peers up for ExchangeEveryDay?
Yes. All friends of children are welcome. Just go to http://mail.ccie.com/eed/eed.php
and enter the e-mail addresses of your peers. Be sure to tell them you
have done so and let them know that they can unsubscribe easily at any time.

We will give you credit for any ideas we use.
