Carmen Hernaez, World Forum National Representative for Argentina, recently shared with all the National Reps a video of the first bath of a newborn in France. Hernaez commented, "When I saw all the love that Sonia Rochel was giving to the babies in their first bath experience, all this worldwide community of people dedicated with love and commitment to early childhood came to my mind. I imagine the first bath of newborn babies in every region."

Babies are keenly aware of, and influenced by, the people who care for them. Consequently, how caregivers act and interact with babies affects their development, especially their social and emotional development. You and your staff can develop your understanding of Being with Babies with this fantastic resource by Beverly Kovach and Denise Da Ros-Voseles.

I was mesmerized by the gentle, thoughtful, intense interaction, between both the baby and Sonia! It made me realize how fast paced our world is today and how very few of us would take the time to bathe a baby in such a supportive manner as Sonia did. What a truly inspirational video.

The video of the first bath for baby was the most profoundly beautiful interaction that I have ever seen between baby and caregiver. The baby is treated with respect and love and the response from the baby is true relaxation and a sense of security. So wonderful.
