Yesterday I cited researchers from North Dakota on the value of thinking like children. Today I return to the same theme, but rely instead on the wisdom of lite-mystery writer Tim Dorsey, who in Nuclear Jellyfish had his character Serge observe:
"Children have it all over adults, possessing magical powers of imagination. Then they grow up into cynical tall people. That's the whole problem with the human race: reverse metamorphosis. We turn from butterflies into caterpillars. The key to keeping your wings is regular exercise of your kindergarten muscles of make-believe."

Dibujando con Niños / Drawing with Children
Authors, Roxana Salazar and Maria Carmen Schulze, describe in words (English and Spanish) and photos their work in Bolivia teaching children to draw using elements in their natural environment. This short (24 pages) book combines both a theoretical framework as well as real life examples, woven together by the amazing passion of the authors.
Modelando con ninos menores de seis anos / Modeling with children under six years old
Children represent their understandings and develop hypotheses through modeling with clay. Stunning photography and text in English and Spanish share the authors' premise that children can learn and express themselves through materials, given the nurturing of adults who see the possibilities in the resources and the potential of each child.

Thank You for all the research and the ideas!
We in early childhood believe that "the key to keeping your wings" is regular exercise beginning in the womb not just at the kindergarten level. Brain development begins in the womb, after all. That is a very important part of being a parent.

Sometime we say , " They are little they cannot understand " But its our wrong idea . The children have highest power of imagination . They know
Who love and who hate . Let us salute their imagination .
