Art Linkletter had a television show by this name where he would interview children 3 to 8 years old and draw out "cute" responses. Today I am going to share with you a few stories that Linkletter would have been proud of. The first comes from Exchange staffer Scott Bilstad relating a dinnertime comment from his 5-year-old daughter Chloe:
Chloe: We only have 4 people in this family.
Momma: I don't think we are going to have any more babies in this family. Should we have Papa fixed?
Papa: What? Come on, that is a little confusing...
Chloe: No Papa, she means like so you don't tell jokes anymore.
A second story comes from an active member of the World Forum's Men in Early Care and Education Working Group:
Today I got invited to Sara’s birthday party. "And how old are you going to be?" I asked.
“I’ll be five,” said Sara.
“Wow, you sure are growing up,” I commented.
“Two curves and two straights,” she announces. I’m confused so I think to myself about the shape of the number 5 and still I’m confused, so I asked her what she was talking about.
“Two curves and two straights, that's how you get to my house, silly.”
