Here are the favorite books that Bonnie and Roger Neugebauer read in 2006. Most of these books were published well before 2006 " it just takes us a while to get to them. We are eager to hear from you about the good non-work-related books you read last year. We have reinstituted the Exchange Insta-Poll starting today and invite you to submit and vote for your favorite books at www.childcareexchange.com.

I would also add Bill Bryson's "Thunderbolt Kid" to the list.

I highly recommend The Book Thief by Markus Zusak. It is historical fiction with characters one cares about. The period is the holocaust from a rural German perspective. Lost, life, hope sure to offer lots of discussion for book clubs.

The Time Traveler's Wife is a life changing, incredible read. Also recommend for stressed early childhood educators - "Women's Best Travel Writing" - 2006, 2005, any year - take yourself away!

Love to have book lists! One more suggestion: The Time Traveler's Wife by Audrey Niffenegger.

I'm amazed that I haven't read a single one on your list - and last year, I had read almost all of them. Adding another to the list - Snowflower and the Secret Fan by Lisa See.
