The article, "Who Are our Early Childhood Educators?", included in the Exchange Essential: ECE Trends in North America, highlighted certain findings of the recently released federal Administration of Child and Families' report, "Number and Characteristics of Early Care and Education Teachers and Caregivers." This report revealed that there are 1 million teachers working in 130,000 early childhood centers in the United States. They work in the following settings:

Head Start centers | = | 143,000 |
