In his popular book, Cultivating Outdoor Classrooms, Eric Nelson talks about the need to accommodate the weather when implementing outdoor classrooms:
"Depending on conditions outdoors, this may mean big or small changes. In any case, weather itself has a lot to teach children, so be enthusiastic about it; turn it into something teachable. At the very least, you need to be committed to being outdoors. Remember these two things: first, children usually want to go outside, and second, they are strongly influenced by your attitude. It's critical to maintain a positive attitude about being outdoors in all sorts of weather."
