Going Green, Saving Money

Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.

"Green practices often save money, particularly over time."  These encouraging words come from environmentalist, Phil Boise, in his Exchange book, Go Green Rating Scale for Early Childhood Settings.

Some savings are long term:  "If existing structural conditions — poor ventilation, mold, furniture that release airborne chemicals, and so on — compromise the health of young children, there may be higher initial capital costs that eventually lead to lower health care expenses and operational costs."
