Wealth is not the predominant determinant of personal happiness. Scientific American Mind (September 2011) reported the results of a "positive feelings" survey of individuals around the world and found:Highest Lowest Costa Rica Georgia Paraguay Armenia Laos Serbia Ireland Bosnia
The magazine reported that factors that tend to lead to happiness in a country are less likely to be wealth and more likely to be things such as trust in other people's good intentions, faith in government, confidence in law enforcement, positive strong ties with family, and being respected by others.
