US Workers Still the Work-aholics of the World

"Hospitality consists of a little fire, a little food, and an immense quiet." –Ralph Waldo Emerson

US WORKERS STILL THE WORK-AHOLICS OF THE WORLD

In comparing the average hours worked per year per person in industrialized nations, the US emerges at the top of the list (not necessarily a proud accomplishment):

United States = 1,966 hours
Japan = 1,889 hours
England = 1,731 hours
France = 1,656 hours
Germany = 1,560 hours
Sweden = 1,552 hours
Norway = 1,399 hours

These statistics were presented in Solutions, the corporate newsletter of Bright Horizons Family Solutions (www.brighthorizons.com).
