Preschool Television Viewing and Obesity

A study, "Television Viewing, Computer Use, Obesity, and Adiposity in U.S. Preschool Children," published in the International Journal of Behavioral Nutrition and Physical Activity (September, 2007), has linked excessive television watching with obesity in preschool children. According to this study, preschool children who watch more than two hours of television a day are more likely to become overweight and have more body fat than children who watch less than two hours a day. No correlation was found between computer use and obesity.
