I assure you that any photos I will include are very old and could not possibly reflect any program I have visited recently. If you are brave enough to share any contribution for this column, I promise I will not reveal your identity. Knowing that nobody is perfect, I think we can always benefit from identifying practices that may not be the best.

Many successful toddler programs thrive on individualized planning and build on informal, spontaneous happenings. But because programs are used to planning around themes for older children, they carry the concept down to the toddler level. Often, the theme falls short.
