The Plan is part graphic novel, part word game, part bittersweet family story. There’s a biplane, the Mighty Comet, parked in the barnyard of May’s Depression Era home. What happened to the pilot? The curious young heroine, along with her handy Pa and a very talented dog, devises a plan to restore and fly it. This story works on several levels as father and daughter execute their plan together to turn their mourning into ­flying.
