I never earned much money

In the career I love

But gained a lot of knowledge

and a bucket full of hugs.

You see, I chose early childhood

And relived my own at that

with children who returned my love

as they sat upon my lap.

Meeting, greeting, work with and for

but never imposing on their little beings

They showed me ways of belonging

I’d never known before.

As they are becoming, so are we.

As they are experiencing, so are we.

Together we see what a wonderful world

It Can Be!

Remembering and building on what has come before.

We believe in Magda, Vivian, Lillian, Margie, Deb, for sure*

The greatest generation, these women taught us how

we grow with and affect these children,

“based on our past for a future we know nothing about.”

But if their early childhoods are anything like mine,

a joyful, loving, intellectually challenging, wonderful time,

then we can say

We changed the world,

one child at a time!
