Performance reviews, while stressful, can prepare your employees for the next stages of their career. The best performance reviews are those where the supervisor knows the employee’s skills and talents and offers suggestions on how to use those talents to develop other areas of job performance and professional growth.

Open, honest, and frequent communication between teachers and supervisors is essential to developing and maintaining a strong faculty team. Positive feedback is a necessary ingredient in building effective performance. One way that supervisors can establish mutual understanding of job expectations is by reviewing job descriptions with new employees.
