Music increases the joy in our program at Holy Trinity Preschool. The children at Holy Trinity experience how much fun it is to make music together! Music doesn't just happen in our "music room" with the "music teacher." It happens throughout the preschool, all morning long. Music happens in every classroom. You can hear teachers and children singing songs during group times and transitioning times, during pick-up and hand-washing times, and of course during our designated "music time" in our "music room."

Three days out of five I get to teach music classes for two- to five-year-old children. Five out of five days I am also the director of preschool ministries at Holy Trinity Lutheran Preschool in Littleton, Colorado. What a joy and privilege it is to be able to step out of my office and step into the "music room," where children have gathered (sitting on the floor) and are anxiously awaiting to do what comes so naturally to them, and that is to make music.

Making music helps children express their feelings, boosts early language skills, enhances their self-esteem, and soothes their souls. It allows children to investigate rhythm, become aware of their bodies, and explore other cultures.
