More administrative work is accomplished. It is the rare director who can single-handedly accomplish all the tasks required to keep a child care center operating smoothly. The more administrative tasks you can delegate to others, the more work gets done.

Director's time is freed for critical tasks. Very often directors get so preoccupied with important routine tasks (ordering supplies, completing USDA vouchers, paying bills, answering the phone) that they never have time for their primary tasks (evaluating the center, developing the staff, planning for the future). By delegating routine tasks, directors can spend their time where it matters the most.

Employees' skills and understanding are enhanced. When important administrative work is delegated to employees, this requires them to develop a broader range of skills. It also enables them to gain a deeper understanding of the complexities of keeping a center afloat.
