Exciting stuff. But what does any of this have to do with child care? It is easy to see how Apple and Coca Cola and Ford Motors will play key roles in this global economy. But what about Kreative Kids Child Care and Aunt Lil's Puzzle Company? Is the global economy something early childhood professionals participate in, or only read about?

To answer this question, we interviewed a variety of professionals from the United States, Canada, Australia, and Denmark who keep their fingers on the pulse of child care.

What we were told by these Exchange TrendWatchers (listed in box) surprised us, and so we are eager to share their insights with you.

Opportunities

We found that in the last five years US early childhood organizations have taken some successful first steps into the global economy of the future. In addition, many foreign companies have become active players in the US early childhood arena.
