Change truly does test our mettle and transitions help us clarify who we are and what we care about. Roger and I have been working our way through several changes this year and we’ve been learning about ourselves, our work, and each other. Last February, we sold our home in Washington and moved to our favorite place in Oregon. Just one month into ‘being home,’ 
we are still adjusting to the contrast from suburban living to a small town/rural life.

We are surrounded by the peace and beauty of nature every moment of the day. 

We have to figure things out for ourselves — fix things, cook, creatively repurpose. 

Daily connections with friends and family happen through technology rather than face-to-face.

The newness is exciting and we are proud of creating a beautiful pie or fixing a toilet or figuring out a technology challenge. 
We can see the powerful impact of change on all of our five senses. What we taste, smell, touch, hear, and see each day is different. Not totally different, of course, but enough so that we notice our physical world constantly and appreciate our perceptions.
