It won't be the hands of Ben Cohen or Jerry Greenfield that serve up your scoop of Tropical Rainforest Crunch or Cherries Garcia at a Ben and Jerry's Scoop Shop, but just as in the days of hand-turned, personally served ice cream, making people happy is still the focus of what they do. Growth and mechanization have turned the personal attention of Ben and Jerry from customer to employee, but commitment to people is alive and well.

Anyone who knows the reputation of Ben and Jerry's will not be surprised that in September The Ben and Jerry's Children's Center opened it's doors as an on-site program for employees and a service to the community. In an interview with Jerry Greenfield and David Barash, director of Human Resources, we gained some interesting perspectives on the decision to open the center and the benefits to employees and company - some anticipated, some unexpected.
